The Universal Sphere, designed by Sir Norman Foster, with filmed content by Steven Spielberg, is a focal point of the Comcast Technology Center. Landor was tasked to develop a logo that gives life and spirit to the Universal Sphere brand experience, positioning Comcast as a technology and innovation leader.
Rather than simply visualizing the physical appearance of this globe, we sought to communicate the impact this new brand can have on tourists to Philadelphia, employees and visitors at Comcast, and within culture in general. We developed a brand platform for action-- Illuminating Inspiration. The ambition of The Sphere and the experience within is to inspire us to question the world around us. The partial view of the globe creates mystery. Light and shadows create drama. The projection of light behind these elements communicates an unconventional and transformative experience.
