Ours is a hard-nosed business. Our only function is to help increase the measurable commercial success of our clients’ brands - and we expect to be judged entirely on our achievements.
But to help brands succeed, you need first to understand them. And brands are a great deal more than products with a manufacturer’s name attached. Strong, successful brands occupy a precious place in people’s lives – and to construct the way they communicate with their users requires a rare combination of information and inspiration. Detailed, accurate market data of course; but also a great deal of sensitivity; a great deal of what can only be described as artistry.
The winning work displayed in this year’s WPPed Cream awards are without exception all examples of artistry. Not artistry for its own sake but calculated, dedicated, brand-specific artistry. They speak for the contribution that WPP makes to our clients’ success more powerfully than any words.
