The Brazilian market is saturated with luxury diesel cars. To compete with major brands such as BMW, Land Rover, Mitsubishi and Ford, Volvo would have to do something to stand out. If the launch of the new Volvo XC60 Diesel was done in the traditional way, Volvo would not succeed.
Agency Solution
It all started with a question: how to stand out with much less money than other competitor’s brands? We used the power of the brands of competitors in its own favor, in a way that had never been seen before. We helped drivers who wanted our product so badly to sell the current cars (of the competitor’s brand). In social media, OOH and even magazines, Volvo replaced XC60 Diesel advertising for the competitors.
