In 2016 KFC launched Shakin’ Shakin’, a snacks in a bag meal that comes with flavoured sprinkles of your choice. Add the flavour and shake the bag. Our challenge was to launch this new meal format to a young, mobile-obsessed audience and get them to trial the new offering.
So we created a made-for-mobile interactive film that gets better the more you shake it, just like the product.
We connected the cellphone’s accelerometer to a sequenced online film, that by shaking gave our audience full control of the content. Every time they physically shook their phone, the scene in the ad got more entertaining.
In the end their ultimate shake was rewarded with a mobile coupon to actually go and try out the product in-store.
