Driving a corporation requires a very clear view ahead.

Digitally connected consumers are changing the world, and it’s only just started.

Ford needed to move from what could be done for connected consumers to what should. With The Futures Company and their agency of record - Team Detroit, they set out to analyse the changes on every horizon.

The Futures Company led Ford delegates through a structured preparation to an intensive two days where Ford’s strategic responses for the next decade were generated – the Future Forum. Thirty participants included outside strategists from Facebook, Barclays and Georgia Tech.

Future Forums have a unifying and visionary impact. After selection of the richest and most viable ideas, the Big Bets were endorsed by Ford leadership, and strategic responses pulled together in the Future Playbook.

Ford has adopted a new global strategy, ‘Smart Mobility’; internal briefings have been intense; some Big Bets were publicly announced; and the Future Playbook has continued to fuel internal initiatives.

Ford leadership calls the results the ‘smartest and most intuitive work’ to date, and an ‘umbrella strategy’ for Ford’s future efforts in this connected-consumer world.
