Project Description
Squarespace contacted us to concept and create their Q3 brand campaign, aimed at potential users of their platform - creators. We selected three of their inspiring brand ambassadors - Danny Bowien, Daniel Arsham and Sadie Williams - and built out the metaphorical physical worlds of their craft and their approach to building their Squarespace sites.
The Squarespace audience is comprised of independent designers, artists, craftspeople and other small businesses who need to present a well-designed interface to their clientele. We quickly landed upon the campaign mantra of “Digital Made Physical” and created a visual language for the gestures they use to build their sites online (swipe, click, drag) that manifested in the physical space around them.
This approach allowed us to create a series of rich worlds inspired by the aesthetics of the different brand ambassadors that also mirror the functionality of the Squarespace platform and evoke a surreal sense that we are somehow inside of the platform; a space where one cannot quite discern what is real and what is virtual.
Agency Solution
The films themselves were available globally online (across Squarespace properties such as Instagram, online advertising, etc) and aired as TVCs in the US, Australia and UK; as well as placements in UK cinema. We created a full suite of assets that accompany each film and have been in regular use on the Squarespace homepage as well as in numerous OOH placements across the aforementioned countries.
